Chargers Go to 3-0 With 5 Unanswered 2nd-Half Goals vs. Bobcats

A huge second half spurred the Carl Sandburg College men’s soccer team to a 5-0 victory Saturday at Bryant & Stratton.
The Chargers scored five unanswered goals after halftime to improve to 3-0 on the season. Rhys Holt (Flintshire, Wales/Hawarden, Deeside Town) scored the final two goals for Sandburg, while Guylberson Camile (Key West, Fla./Key West) had a goal and two assists.
After a scoreless first half, Pedronel Herrera (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Claret) found Camile for the game’s first goal in the 52nd minute. The pair connected again in the 69th minute, this time with Camile feeding Herrera, for a 2-0 lead.
Luis Cuevas (Ponce, Puerto Rico/Vocational Bernardino Cordero) put the Chargers up 3-0 in the 74th minute off a pass from Matheus Andrade (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Colegio Brasil Objectivo). Holt’s first goal came in the 84th minute off an assist from Camile, and he capped the scoring in the 88th minute with an assist from Isaiah Mowen (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg).
Sandburg outshot Bryant & Stratton 29-7 and put 16 shots on goal to the Bobcats’ four. Iker Sanchez (Miami, Fla./Immaculata LaSalle) and Kale Stevenson (Cowdenbeath, Scotland/Cowdenbeath) combined for a clean sheet, making four saves.
